The basics
What is ParentEdge?
ParentEdge is a place to talk through your kid's sport with someone who knows it cold and remembers everything. Tell it about your kid — their sport, their goals, how practice went, the rough game last weekend — and it puts all of it to work: advice when you need it, a practice plan, an offseason plan, a pre-game routine, whatever helps. After a few weeks it knows your kid as an athlete better than anyone except you. It's made for the parent to use, and the kid to benefit.
How is this different from just using ChatGPT?
You could ask ChatGPT — but you'd start from zero every time. You'd re-type who your kid is, what position they play, what you worked on last week, what the coach said, and by the next conversation it has forgotten all of it. ParentEdge remembers your specific kid, season over season, and it hands you the actual thing you need — a practice plan, a pre-game note, an Athlete Card, a read on a video clip — not just an answer in a chat box. It's built for one job, by a parent, and if something ever breaks, a real person answers your email.
Do I need to know the sport myself?
No. Plenty of parents come in knowing their kid's sport cold; plenty come in with honestly no clue. ParentEdge meets you wherever you are — it explains things in plain language and never makes you feel like you should already have known. That gap between wanting to help and not always knowing how is exactly what it's for.
Who is ParentEdge for?
The parent who wants to help their kid get better at their sport — and who's already having that conversation in their own head every day. We just give you somewhere to take it. If you think about your kid's development all the time, this is built for you.
Does my kid use it?
No — and that's on purpose. ParentEdge is your space, not theirs. There's no login for the kid, no screen for them to check, nothing for them to keep up. It's for you to use and them to benefit. If you want, it will write a note addressed to your kid that you can hand them — but it never talks to them behind your back.
Privacy & safety
Is my kid's information private?
Yes. Your kid's information stays yours. Athlete profiles are private by default — nobody sees them unless you choose to share. The shareable Athlete Card is opt-in, you turn it on per sport, and you can turn it back off anytime. Public profile pages are also blocked from search engines to protect minors.
Do you sell my data or use it to train AI?
No, to both. We never sell your data, and we never use it to train AI models. We only ever use what you share to help your kid — that's the whole deal.
What happens to videos I send?
The video is processed right on your phone — it never uploads to us. When you ask for a read on a clip, only a few still frames are sent to get the answer, and those aren't kept afterward. Anything measured is stored as numbers, never as footage.
Who can see my kid's profile?
Only you, unless you decide to share. Everything is private by default. When you want to hand a new coach or a tryout an Athlete Card, you opt in to a shareable link for that sport — and you can switch it back off whenever you want.
Sports & ages
What sports does it cover?
Thirteen sports have dedicated terminology and development frameworks built in: basketball, soccer, baseball, football, hockey, volleyball, tennis, swimming, golf, track and field, lacrosse, wrestling, and gymnastics. If your kid plays something else, it still works — a general mode covers the rest.
What ages does it work for?
It's built for parents of athletes ages 6 through 18. It calibrates its language, expectations, and development advice to each kid's age — what it says about a 7-year-old is not what it says about a 16-year-old.
What if my kid is just starting out, not super competitive?
It still fits. ParentEdge works for kids at every level — elite, competitive, recreational, or just learning the game — and the advice scales to where your kid actually is. Wherever that is, it helps you help them.
Can I have more than one kid on my account?
Yes — up to 4 kids on one account. The base subscription covers one athlete; each additional kid is $15/month or $99/year. Every kid keeps their own profile, their own Athlete Card, and their own history.
Can one kid play more than one sport?
Yes — up to 3 sports per kid, each kept separate. ParentEdge won't blend basketball advice into a soccer conversation. It keeps every sport's context, goals, and history on its own.
What it makes & how you use it
What can I actually have it make for me?
Ask in plain language and it builds it: practice plans, drill progressions, pre-game notes written to your kid, post-game debriefs, season recaps, a summary for a new coach, an Athlete Card, goal-setting plans, and more — around twenty different things in all. Every one is built from what you've told it about your kid, never a template with their name dropped in.
How does it get to know my kid?
Through the conversation. Every time you share something — how practice went, a rough game, a new goal, a growth spurt, how they handle pressure — it's remembered and factored into what it tells you next. The more you share, the sharper it gets. Month six looks nothing like month one.
What's the Athlete Card?
A clean one-page profile of your kid as an athlete — sport, position, strengths, what they're working on, their goals. You can build it in a tap, print it, or share it with a new coach or a tryout. It's the fastest way to hand someone the picture of your kid that usually only lives in your head.
Can I share things with family or a coach?
Yes. Plans and notes are yours to print, send to your kid's phone, or share by link. There's also a family-friendly update you can make for grandparents or a co-parent — the same picture of how your kid's doing, written for people who aren't in the weeds of the sport.
Can it look at video?
Yes. You can send a short clip and get a plain-language read on what it sees, right in the conversation. It's honest about what a single clip can and can't show, and the video never leaves your phone — only a few still frames are used to write the read.
Plans & billing
How much does it cost?
$25 per month or $199 per year for one athlete — the annual plan is the better deal. Additional kids are $15/month or $99/year each. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days, with full access from day one. A card is required to start, and we'll remind you before the trial ends. Cancel before it's over and you won't be charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, right from your account, anytime. You keep access through the end of the period you've paid for. We don't do refunds for past periods — you simply turn off the next renewal, and there's nothing to chase.
How do I add or remove a kid?
From your account, anytime. Adding a kid opens their profile right away; removing one drops that seat at your next renewal. You're only ever paying for the kids you actually have on the account.
How do I get help or change my subscription?
Everything is on your account page — plan changes, adding kids, canceling. For anything else, email support@parentedge.com and a real person reads it, usually within one business day.
